S E C T A S A U R™ - NUCLEAR WINTER

Commander
John
Storm RN, hails the 'KoolArctic' British Antarctic survey ship from the
helm of the Elizabeth Swann. John, Dan and Charley, are adjusting to the
sub zero South Pole temperatures, by dressing in warmer gear. John has
always been a fan of the famous explorers: Sir
Ernest Shackleton and Captain
Robert Scott. Unlike Dan and Kitty (John's faithful tabby cat) he
loves the breathtaking scenery and bracing cold air. He never thought
he'd be a naval
attaché for the British Secret Service.

CHAP
8 - They
lived at a time when dinosaurs ruled the earth. Potentially, partly explaining
the demise of the smaller prehistoric creatures, such as Velociraptor.
Where Tyrannosaurus Rex would have starved in a volcanic winter, smaller
animals might have fared better. Except against creatures with a higher
tolerance to freezing conditions, and even faster reaction times, such
as Insectasaurus Rex and Insectaraptor. A Planet
of the Apes evolutionary switch. Triggered by asteroid
impact with planet earth and subsequent nuclear winter.
"Suki Hall calling Elizabeth Swann, come in Hal."
"Greetings and salutations Miss Hall. Is it warmer where you are?"
"Yes, thanks Hal, is John, Dan or Charley listening?"
Unanimously: "Were all here Suki."
"Oh, great. Hello everyone. Just to confirm, John's initial thoughts as to being warm blooded and super aspirated. That hypothesis appears well worth pursuing."
"Uh, huh." John gave a knowing smile to the crew.
"Charley?"
"Hi Suki, how are you?"
"Excited and worried. Charley, I've a favour to ask?
"Go ahead, were all in on this."
"Well, this is pretty ground breaking stuff. Alters the whole prehistory landscape somewhat."
"An understatement." Quipped Dan.
"Obviously, if the hypothesis I'm developing is right, or wrong. But, either way it could harm our work, if we are seen to be cranks."
There was a silence, then Charley opened, "Go on Suki, we're with you."
"Okay, thanks. Well, either way there will be naysayers looking to take a cheap swipe."
They all nodded aboard the Swann, including Hal.
"With that in mind, the favour, Charley, is not to let the cat out of the bag, to, I presume Jill?"
"Yes Suki, it would be through Jill and Steve."
"Perfect. Yes, not to spill the beans, until we, and that means you as well Commander." She giggled.
"And what is so funny about that," asked John feigning indignation.
Charley and Dan could not suppress a grin. Kitty gracefully leapt up onto the instrument console.
Kitty,
the ship's cat, changed colour in the Antarctic. She was allowed onto
the seats, wooden flat areas, but not onto the instruments. She was a
very well behaved cat, loyal to her Captain.
John picked up Kitty. "You don't think it's funny, do you?" He stroked Kitty's head. She purred affectionately.
"And no betting."
"That was none of us. Tell it to Shui." Said John, giving a big thumbs up, in recognition of Shui's genius. "But what a gamble, eh?"
"So, only through Ms Bird then, and only when we have enough evidence to remain credible. Is that fair Charley."
"Could not have put it better myself."
Kitty meowed.
"That's it then. Kitty has given us her seal of approval." John loved the ship's cat.
"Suki. I've run the DNA through Hal and the Ark, and it is incredible."
"What is incredible" Suki and Charley exclaimed.
"It appears they had lungs, or sorts. And could warm their own blood, when it was normally colder. And get this, the natural antifreeze, was very potent."
"Meaning?" Said Charley impatiently.
"I think you have an inkling what that might mean." Said John, with a chuckle. "It means, that these creatures, and there must have been several different species - they were very fast. Lightning. They could survive extreme cold, and turbo themselves, to catch unwary animals. Not only that, but kilo for kilo, they were much stronger than any dinosaur."
Suki came in, "and their sting would paralyze any dinosaur."
"Yikes."
"Yes Dan, Miss Hall is spot on, that's a very big yikes."
"So, be careful out there. It's not just the humans who are dangerous."
"Sure thing Suki. We love you." John motioned a kiss. "Keep us in the loop."
"Likewise Mr Storm. Over and out."
Suki was right. Someone was killing everyone in their vicinity. That meant only gold or biological warfare, as far as he was concerned. it was like the Android onboard Nostromo, in Alien. Humans were expendable. The primary objective of the culprit, seemed to be to secure the species. They needed proof of that.
Suki Hall is a marine biologist and oceanographer, normally, specializing in cetaceans. She is intrigued by the find of previously unknown species in Antarctica. Wondering how they grew so large, and how they survived in the cold.
Following the amazing discovery of a clutch of Sectasaur eggs, Lin Po Chang plots to eliminate the competition
SECTASAUR™ - CHAPTERS (APPROX 5 MINS PER SCENE)
PART 1
CHAPTER
1: US ARKTOS 1838 EXPEDITION -
The ice melts at both poles revealing features on the land not seen for
thousands of years. A converted Frigate, the US Arktos is discovered at the South Pole locked into melting
ice, then freed.
CHAPTER
5: IT'S MURDER ON THE ICE - Several fatal accidents occur in quick succession, then an egg clutch is discovered in a section of a tunnel.
Chang eliminates the remaining opposition. Then nurtures one thawed
egg through a simulated incubation.
PART 2
CHAPTER
8: WHEN DINOSAURS RULED THE EARTH - Confirmed, they
lived when dinosaurs ruled the earth. Dinosaurs starve in volcanic/asteroid
winter. Sectasaurs have higher
tolerance to freezing conditions, eat competition, then hibernate.
Suki Hall hypothesis merit worthy, supported scientific community.
CHAPTER 13: CAT & MOUSE - Storm and Temple play cat and mouse with Sectasaur - when the giant insect came up from behind over the brow of a ravine and knocks Charley nearly unconscious. Storm strikes the creature with an axe, causing partial shock.
PART 3
CHAPTER 14: FIRST AID - Charley and John patch creature's wound with antiseptic and bandages. The giant insect feigns immobility. Understands dialogue between John and Charley is not aggressive or threatening, and marks these two humans down as allies.
CHAPTER 15: SECTASAUR RESCUES JOHN - John panics with axe.
Creature lashed out in reflex throwing John over a ledge. John at the mercy
of creature.
The huge insect puts itself at risk to pull John up to safety. Meanwhile government troops,
Territorial Army reservists are closing in. CHAPTER 19: ATTACK SUBSIDES - John and Charley shout as loud as they can, stopping firing. They reach insect. They raised its feelers, Charley and John take one each, and the trio embraced for a minute, its antennae were limp - there was no reviving it - tears, anger - it was gone. J&C in shock for a moment.
CHAPTER
20: NO REMORSE - John & Charley anger welling up inside, tears
gave way to action. A rhinoceros soldier
is delighted at kill. "Yes," cried the soldier. "Yes," said John,
punching the trigger happy fool out. Up to that point other military thought they had saved
their lives. Chang is devastated at loss.
See draft scripts for 'KULO-LUNA' and 'CLEOPATRA'S MUMMY.' Other John Storm adventures (under development) include: 'OPERATION NEPTUNE,' 'THE HOLY COMPASS,' and TREASURE ISLAND - BLACKBEARD'S CURSE & PIRATES GOLD. Development order is subject to viewer polls and other third party interest.
Another title, using the same special effects artwork as Sectasaur™ is JIMMY WATSON'S MAGIC DINOBOT. This is a children's Christmas story. Far removed from high seas adventures.
CHAPTERS | CHARACTERS | DINOSAURS | MOVIES | PLOT OUTLINE
The artwork is also suitable for use in "Jimmy Watson's Magic Dinobot." A proposed network TV serialization, about boy who saves his paper round money to buy himself a robot for Christmas. Then, when assembled, it come to life, to become his friend. ARTWORK - Somewhat better than the huge ants in "Them," but perhaps not as good as the CGI in Antman. Now a museum exhibit in Sussex, England. The artwork is based on an Australian Bulldog ant.
