Commander
John
Storm RN, hails the 'KoolArctic' British Antarctic survey ship from the
helm of the Elizabeth Swann. John, Dan and Charley, are adjusting to the
sub zero South Pole temperatures, by dressing in warmer gear. John has
always been a fan of the famous explorers: Sir
Ernest Shackleton and Captain
Robert Scott. Unlike Dan and Kitty (John's faithful tabby cat) he
loves the breathtaking scenery and bracing cold air. He never thought
he'd be a naval
attaché for the British Secret Service.
CHAP 10 - Storm and crew head to England at high speed.
"Hal, high speed pursuit mode, if you please."
"We are low on power Skip."
Pursuit mode please Hal, hydrofoils, the works. No time to lose."
Dan was a little surprised at the order, it stretching their reserves to empty tanks. He said nothing. One look on the Skipper's face said it all.
"Dan, keep a look out for Arktiki's, debris visually will you. Hal, any other ships in the vicinity."
The hydrofoils were deployed, and thrusters; all ahead full. HMS Elizabeth Swann climbed out of the waves onto her water wings. The effect was amazing. Smooth and virtually silent. As if they were flying in an aircraft, just above the sea troughs and crests. Fortunately, the weather was calm.
"Is that full throttle Hal" Hal had kept a little back. "We're only making 35 knots?"
"My bad Commander." Hal opened the fuel cells wide. Hydrogen poured into the membranes, electricity and steam vapour poured out the other side.
"That's better Hal," said John laughing. "Just a shade over 43 knots, against a slight wind."
"Who's picking up the service tab on this one Skip?"
"The Admiralty Dan, that's for sure. Hal, any chance of a better course. Reduced windage? We must get to England before it all goes pear shaped."
...
After KoolArctic sunk beneath the waves, the Sectasaur nicknamed 'King Kong,' of the newly discovered species, Sectasaurus Rex, had swum around desperate to find another ride. The giant insect had the luck of 'Unsinkable Sam,' a domesticated ships cat that survived being torpedoed twice during World War Two. Each time staying afloat until picked up by another ship.
A container ship by the name of 'HMM Atlantic Express' hove into view. King Kong found she was able to propel herself at quite a pace, intercepting the Express amidships, then sliding ignominiously along the side of the hull, until she found a claw hold. Just enough to gain another perch, and another, and another. All to way to the deck railings, and over. It was dark. King Kong did not want to be spotted, or to have to kill again quite so soon. Or, she'd be in the water again. Though in the creatures estimation, that was rather a drastic measure. While the insect was growing, she was listening to the humans onboard KoolArctic, speaking to one another. And straining to hear Tannoy messages, over the ship's public address system. From these exchanges, the giant antlike creature, began to understand a few words. Though unable to vocalize them.
...
Dan spotted some flotsam. "Skip, there are some wooden crates and other stuff floating on the starboard bow, about two miles south, south east."
"Good eyesight Dan. You got that Hal?"
"No. Hold on, I'll hack into a satellite. Aha. Aha."
John and Dan waited patiently. Strumming their fingers on the instrument console. They smiled at each other, nodding their heads. And that wound up Hal, as well they knew.
"I know. I read your vibes. Aha. Okay, yes, one of the low orbit satellites in this sweep can see something where Dan is indicating."
"And ...."
And yes Commander, a ship passed close by."
"Close enough?"
"I'd say so."
"Okay then, I'll start rowing shall I?"
"Recalculating course Skip. The ship is the Atlantic Express, out of Cape Town, bound for Rio de Janeiro."
"So, we head for Rio then?"
"No skip, the drop there is short to pick up just ten containers cargo. From Rio to Southampton."
"Not New York?"
"No Skip, carrying bully-beef, cocoa and coffee beans. Then to Rotterdam."
"Lucky Kong."
"And, bananas and sugar from Cape Town."
"A feast for a King Dan."
"You thinking what I think you are thinking?"
"Damn right."
...
Meanwhile Lin Po Chang has landed in Portsmouth, to await the remaining eggs unaware that the KoolArctic is at the bottom of the ocean and that the last surviving on his precious cargo was on the Atlantic Express bound for the docks in Southampton to unload her containers.
John spreads news of Sectasaur ant species: King Kong.
>>> HAMPSHIRE
Suki Hall is a marine biologist and oceanographer, normally, specializing in cetaceans. She is intrigued by the find of previously unknown species in Antarctica. Wondering how they grew so large, and how they survived in the cold.
...
Following the amazing discovery of a clutch of Sectasaur eggs, Lin Po Chang plots to eliminate the competition
SECTASAUR™ - CHAPTERS (APPROX 5 MINS PER SCENE)
PART 1
CHAPTER
1: US ARKTOS 1838 EXPEDITION -
The ice melts at both poles revealing features on the land not seen for
thousands of years. A converted Frigate, the US Arktos is discovered at the South Pole locked into melting
ice, then freed.
CHAPTER
5: IT'S MURDER ON THE ICE - Several fatal accidents occur in quick succession, then an egg clutch is discovered in a section of a tunnel.
Chang eliminates the remaining opposition. Then nurtures one thawed
egg through a simulated incubation.
PART 2
CHAPTER
8: WHEN DINOSAURS RULED THE EARTH - Confirmed, they
lived when dinosaurs ruled the earth. Dinosaurs starve in volcanic/asteroid
winter. Sectasaurs have higher
tolerance to freezing conditions, eat competition, then hibernate.
Suki Hall hypothesis merit worthy, supported scientific community.
CHAPTER 13: CAT & MOUSE - Storm and Temple play cat and mouse with Sectasaur - when the giant insect came up from behind over the brow of a ravine and knocks Charley nearly unconscious. Storm strikes the creature with an axe, causing partial shock.
PART 3
CHAPTER 14: FIRST AID - Charley and John patch creature's wound with antiseptic and bandages. The giant insect feigns immobility. Understands dialogue between John and Charley is not aggressive or threatening, and marks these two humans down as allies.
CHAPTER 19: ATTACK SUBSIDES - John and Charley shout as loud as they can, stopping firing. They reach insect. They raised its feelers, Charley and John take one each, and the trio embraced for a minute, its antennae were limp - there was no reviving it - tears, anger - it was gone. J&C in shock for a moment.
CHAPTER
20: NO REMORSE - John & Charley anger welling up inside, tears
gave way to action. A rhinoceros soldier
is delighted at kill. "Yes," cried the soldier. "Yes," said John,
punching the trigger happy fool out. Up to that point other military thought they had saved
their lives. Chang is devastated at loss.

The artwork is also suitable for use in "Jimmy Watson's Magic Dinobot." A proposed network TV serialization, about boy who saves his paper round money to buy himself a robot for Christmas. Then, when assembled, it come to life, to become his friend. ARTWORK - Somewhat better than the huge ants in "Them," but perhaps not as good as the CGI in Antman. Now a museum exhibit in Sussex, England. The artwork is based on an Australian Bulldog ant.
