Suki
Hall is a marine biologist and oceanographer, normally, specializing in cetaceans.
She is intrigued by the find of previously unknown species in
Antarctica. Wondering how they grew so large, and how they survived in
the cold.
Suki Hall is a marine biologist specializing in cetaceans, and following in the family tradition where her parents had worked on the SPLASH project from 2004 to 2006 when she was child. She is a water baby, born to swim and explore ocean wildlife.
Suki was working on a paper about whale stranding and species depletion,
when she first met John Storm, and Kulo Luna, the giant humpback whale,
who was pregnant, and had ingested a lot of marine plastic. Her work is supported by a number of organizations, including Sky News.
Suki is a welcome guest on the Elizabeth Swann at an time and an ardent admirer of the adventurous and yet caring nature of John Storm.
She had a brief affair with John, as his lover for some time, but their
work kept them apart, and they decided to remain very good friends.
Allies in the fight against acid oceans and global warming.
She is especially interested in John's DNA archive aboard the Swann, aptly named 'The Ark.'
Suki
is a regular in the cast of characters in the John Storm ocean awareness
adventures, whenever there is a call for expert advice on marine
matters.
Suki
has become a long term friend of Charley Temple and knows Jill Bird. She
was part of the team that saved Kulo Luna,
who like millions of viewers, was somewhat shocked when Shui
Razor, the once infamous Japanese whaling captain, turned out to be dyed
in the wool a conservationist.
In
this story about the giant prehistoric ant discovered in Antarctic ice,
Suki is concerned for the safety of two of her most excellent friends. Also,
worried about the giant Sectasaur, who at first is reported as being
extremely dangerous and a man killer. But as the story unfolds, Ms
Hall's research leads her to believe that the prehistoric 'dinosaur-period' insect is extremely intelligent and not at
all a threat to those who do not try to harm her. She knows this from up
to the minute feedback from John and Charley. Suki is relieved when
the Sectasaur saves John from falling, at the cost of it's own life,
shedding a tear when she learns of the death of the friendly giant.

Jill's
great grandfather used to tell her frightening bedtime stories about the
giant prehistoric ants invading London. This caused quite a stir at the
time. With many newspapers publishing the story. Archibold Bird
became quite obsessed with the subject, churning out many paintings on
the topic. Which, Jill secretly viewed from time to time in her loft
and basement. Since she could not hand them anywhere visitors might see.
The real problem being that Archibold was friends with Captain John
Cleves Symes (jrn). And the American army Captain was held to be
somewhat barking in some circles. Archibold had also brushed shoulders
with Fabian von Bellinghousen, who had tried to hush up the discovery of
fossilized giant insectoid remains. Lest he too might be branded
sensationalist.
