Jill's great grandfather used to tell her tales of his father, an Antarctic explorer, finding very large insect parts, during one of their expeditions in the reign of King George III. Then later during the reign of George IV. She had a painting that had been handed down through the generations, but never mentioned it to anyone because they may think there was madness in the family. This all changed when Charley started her feeds. That, naturally, needed a lot of convincing before Jill decided the story had some merit.
Jill Bird is a senior news reader and anchorwoman with the BBC world news service. She has been with the British Broadcasting Corporation for many years. Having obtained media and philosophy degrees, she progressed from researcher to reading the news at local level, until she was discovered as a talent with a large following and a flair for weeding out the best stories. That in turn increased the ratings whenever she was a feature.
Jill is a long term friend of Charley Temple and a big fan and secret admirer of John Storm's exploits. She covered the Kulo Luna story as it was breaking, making him into an international celebrity, along with Shui Razor, the whaler turned conservationist.
In
this story about the giant prehistoric ant discovered in Antarctic ice,
Jill is concerned for the safety of two of her feature stars. Also,
worried about the giant Sectasaur, who at first is reported as being
extremely dangerous and a man killer. But as the story unfolds, Jill
realises that the dinosaur
period insect is extremely intelligent and not at
all a threat to those who do not try to harm her. She knows this from up
to the minute feedback from John and Charley. Jill is quite touched when
the Sectasaur saves John from falling, at the cost of its own life,
shedding a tear in private, and holding back her emotions when reporting
the death of the friendly giant.
Jill Bird and her friend Charley Temple, both share a fascination with Cleopatra, the last Pharaoh queen of Egypt. When her mummy is discovered, they are both over the moon.
SECTASAUR CAST
Jill's great grandfather used to tell her frightening bedtime stories about the giant prehistoric ants invading London. This caused quite a stir at the time. With many newspapers publishing the story. Archibold Bird became quite obsessed with the subject, churning out many paintings on the topic. Which, Jill secretly viewed from time to time in her loft and basement. Since she could not hand them anywhere visitors might see. The real problem being that Archibold was friends with Captain John Cleves Symes (jrn). And the American army Captain was held to be somewhat barking in some circles. Archibold had also brushed shoulders with Fabian von Bellinghousen, who had tried to hush up the discovery of fossilized giant insectoid remains. Lest he too might be branded sensationalist.
