Sven
Johansson is a long time friend of Bjorn
Atlas. The two are adventurers in search of riches, gold, or other
minerals, and fossils that may have a high street price.
As
with Atlas, Sven was a member of a Swedish Antarctic team of
years gone by, thus became a seasoned explorer, with several years
experience of sub zero temperatures. Johansson heard Jill
Bird's news report,
revealing the existence of a labyrinth
of tunnels under the Antarctic ice, several millions of years old.
Sven
also knew of the fabled fossilized insect jaw, said
to have originated in Antarctica, brought back as a souvenir by the
famous Russian explorer, Fabian Gottlieb von Bellinghausen during his 1820
expedition, when the Antarctic was first discovered.
Sven
Johansson is a qualified geologist. He is beefier that Bjorn, and not adverse to bending a
rule or two. The Swedish
scientific and natural history concerns, agree to fund Bjorn's
expedition, partly because Sven will be on the team. He is a body
builder, and genuine tough guy, who is very concerned with healthy
eating.
